Several years ago my family and I spent time in South Sudan working on a solar project, doing medical work and serving in the schools with the kids. We were all tremendously impacted by the poverty and hardship but mostly by the beautiful spirit of the people. We did not understand the impact of the lack of access to clean water until we directly saw it there. That is how we became involved with Water is Basic. I am now a board member for the organization and know this organization makes a HUGE impact.
Please join me in this community by becoming a Water Warrior to raise funds for the gift of clean water!
Water is Basic is unique because it's a local organization, dreamt by South Sudanese and employed by South Sudanese. That means in times of conflict or in times of peace, the work continues.
The 5-year civil war in South Sudan ended on September 12, 2018. With so many returning to their homes to rebuild their lives, the number 1 need upon their return is clean water.
