Help families displaced from Kibumba gain access to clean water!

Introduction:

In 2014, we began the implementation of providing clean water to the 30,000 people of Kibumba in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It started with the distribution of 5,000 Sawyer Water Filters and expanded to the construction of 100 rain catchment systems.

The recent conflict near Goma, DRC, has displaced millions. Every family from Kibumba, including the water committee and rain catchment construction team, is now living in overcrowded, makeshift camps with limited access to water.

Problem:

The situation in the camps is dire, with minimal access to clean water, creating life-threatening health risks for every person.

Solution:

We are raising funds to construct rain catchment systems to meet the needs of millions displaced from Kibumba and surrounding areas. The average tank will collect 15,000 liters of rainwater, which can be used for drinking, cooking, and bathing.

Impact:

Your donation will help to provide water to displaced people, improving their health and hygiene and reducing the risk of life-threatening dehydration and waterborne diseases.

Donate today and help make a difference!

Specifics:

  • The team can construct up to eight rain catchment systems in one month.
  • The cost of each rain catchment system is $2,000.
  • The money will be used to purchase materials and pay the labor fees to the local Transform DRC Construction team, all living in the camps.
  • Rain catchment systems will serve displaced people now and local villages later.
